Here's how I learnt to wear my big bum with pride Believe me, it's taken me 14 years of Big Bum Complex, (hereafter called BBC) to pronounce the words: "wear my big bum with pride :)" I've always had a wider bottom than any of my friends...when I was a teenager it was basically just bone, even though I didn't think it was back then. Now in hindsight, I realize I was really skinny at the times and the reason why I thought my bum was big was because my breasts were unproportianally smaller. So now I'm thinking, will I look back at pictures of myself now, within 10 years' time and think - "Oh goodness! And I thought that was big!?" So I'm just gonna enjoy my present and end the BBC. In all truth, I've been helped by various people to get to this point, strangely enough even men! Here goes... BBC Myth 1 > DemolishedWhen I was living in Italy, I had a massive (and I mean massive) crush on this guy. We lived in the same block for months and throughout he kept calling me 'big bum' - to which I always turned up my nose and told him off for. Only until, just a week before leaving, I overheard him tell his friends that he saw this fantastic 'big bum' at the beach which drove him crazy. I was like - oh crikey...so he didn't mean that as an offence...quite the opposite really! BBC Myth 2 > DemolishedYou cannot be a dancer if you have a bigger bum or a BBC.· Oh yes you can! :) Thanks to my bellydance teacher I learnt that my big bum actually works to my advantage in this kind of dancing. While learning how to train your glutes for cleaner moves, you also learn as time goes by new moves that make you realise that any kind of woman can be sensual when doing these moves...it's a great way of relaxing, toning the glutes and making peace with your sensuality and actually embracing your bum as part of it.
A pear shape is ugly - not if it's toned ;) Here's how I've been toning my rear end to fight my BBC! - Wear heels anytime you can.· You walk better in heels, you give yourself a better posture and a more ladylike stroll. - While standing waiting in queue or at a bus stop etc. squeeze your glutes, hold for 10 seconds and release.
