After the wedding is over and the hot steamy honey moon is almost done, you will have to pause and think about the people who showed up to your wedding day.
Having a good daily skin care routine is very important to the health of your skin and an essential step towards having a good complexion.
We’ve all been told from a young age to follow a basic skincare routine to keep our skin clean and healthy. We’ve been told that it would soon become second nature and part of our daily life. We’ve been told it takes only 5 minutes of our time and yet…not all of us stick to it religiously.
Healthy skin comes from having a good daily facial skin care routine. Your skin is able to cleanse, heal and even renew itself. How effectively it does these things is partly governed by how well you take care of it.
Following a 3-step routine daily you will keep your skin nourished, clear from blemishes and younger looking.
Morning Routine & Evening Routine
Cleanse
Regular cleansing is important to remove dirt and grime, excess oils and aids the renewal of skin cells. You can use face washes or wipe off lotions. If using a face wash remember to wash your face and neck with cool water to close the pores.
Tone
Toners remove all remaining traces of oil, makeup and dirt, even though a good cleanser will do this too. Toner is applied by dabbing some on a cotton pad and applying it to your face.
Moisturise
Apply daily moisturizer using the tip of your finger. Start from your throat and work it into the skin, massaging in an upward, stroking motion. Also apply eye gel to your fingertips and dab it onto your skin under the eye area, moving from the outer area inwards.
Weekly Routine
Scrub
Use a scrub weekly after cleansing to help stimulate your lymphatic system and remove dead skin cells, stimulating skin renewal. This will leave you with a glowing, healthy complexion. Facial scrubs contain fine grains and should be massaged gently into the skin and then rinsed away thoroughly.
You can also use a weekly mask, apply it all over your face avoiding eyes and lips, leave for 15 minutes and rinse off with cool water. Then apply toner and moisturisers as in the daily routine.
Monthly Routine
Facials
Treat yourself to a facial at a salon just once a month or 6 weeks and you will see a noticeable difference to your complexion and skin tone. You can also see our Facials at Home article and give yourself a facial in the comfort of your own home.
