We spend so much time thinking about it that we never get it done. Is it laziness?

Not at all, it’s just that you want to do it but anything less than 'perfect' won’t cut it; so you end up not starting at all. Setting high bars for ourselves in what we do demands an enormous amount of attention – and this just to achieve our personal standards.

We are not able to start what we cannot finish; and if we try it’s still always in the back of your mind - it's just not our style.

I admit it – I’m a procrastinating perfectionist. Sure trying to achieve perfection can help you achieve great results however to our own detriment perfectionism at its extreme prevents us from being and doing our best. It’s time to start tackling the piles of 'stuff' you choose to keep postponing to 'when you have time' to do it perfectly. It’s time to get rid of all the unwanted items you own and here's how to get it done – no if’s or but’s - just do it.

Set a Date

Allocate time to going through all the things you've been storing 'just in case' or until you find 'someone who really needs them’ to give them to. Maybe you can make it a Saturday afternoon thing, from 3pm - 6pm until it gets done. If it’s a big project break it down into smaller segments - one day the kids clothes, next time the kitchen accessories or clothes you no longer fit into or wear!!

Sell Unwanted Items on Amazon

It takes some time to figure it out first time but once you start you will realize that it can be a very rewarding way to get rid of unwanted items and turn them into cash!!

Reward Yourself

alt

If you have sold your items buy yourself something nice to reward you for your hard work maybe a nice piece of jewelry. Or you can turn the space that was once filled with clutter into something useful such as a gym space in the basement or an office space in a spare room.

Once you have done what you wanted to do, don’t spend time thinking about it just drop it - it’s done. I know you could have taken better photos of your unwanted Items to put on eBay and I know that you could have described things better in the listing, however the things we think add value to these situations in some cases make no difference at all.

So enjoy the results, even if they weren’t so perfect, sometimes we look so deep into an event that we cannot see the big picture.
